Well, Today I got a lot accomplished and I'm so happy about it. I ordered 300 of my brand new CD's with new songs never released before!!!! I also ordered 500 postcards, 10 magnets (for some give-a-ways- I like magnets, do you?:) and a music supervisor directory to try to and get some of my songs placed in some TV/Film hopefully! PHEW!!!! I've been waiting to make those orders and I finally got to today!!! I used my business account debit card for the first time and it was really fun! I've been tucking away money from performances for a while trying to get all this and I'm so excited- YAY!
With a summer full of fun and lots of gigs, the merch will come in handy. I still need to order t-shirts,buttons and stickers- some merch ideas I'd like to add to the table. Let me know if any of you are designers and would like to volunteer to design some of these things!!!! :)
Besides getting all that done, I've been boogie boarding and spending time with those I love. I love summertime! Even though I'm not a kid (except at heart) I still have those summer break feelings of freedom. I love listening to sad songs but when I'm trying to write, I just feel like writing about sunshine lately! ;) So, I think I will. As I've noticed in life, it comes in waves. Sometimes I seem to only write downer songs (which hopefully help people not feel alone in their gloom) and then I'll have periods of only happy, upbeat songs. Life and songs have that in common. I don't think I could only listen to one or the other- or live life that way either. Without the down times, we wouldn't appreciate the happy nearly as much! :)
So, enjoy your summer, get some sun (with SPF protection please!) and LOVE LOVE LOVE!!!! :)
Hope to see you soon!
Beautiful Cali Weather and a CD Release...
Wow, today was such a gorgeous day here in Orange County, CA! I got to go on a walk with people I love, practice some music, and drink a delicious smoothie! Living near the ocean is so wonderful. I love watching all the little kids play in the ocean and sand. It's so entertaining and relaxing!
Also, very exciting, last night was an awesome performance night. I was performing with Julia (cellist) and Akiko (percussion) and I sold out of all the CD's I had brought, which is great! I'm totally sold out of all duplicated CD's and those were burned CD's. WOW!
Thankfully, because of the fundraising concert and some nice paid gigs recently, I'm definitely going to get to get the CD's and other fun merchandise duplicated in April and hoping for a May CD Release party- probably at the Zoo!!!! HOW FUN IS THAT!!! I have some awesome connections there- actually the guy who won the i-pod at the fundraiser night! I actually met him performing for a Relay for Life early last year...wow...long story, but really interesting, huh?
So, let me know if you guys think a Zoo CD Release Party sounds like fun?!?!? Maybe on a Sunday afternoon when they have ELEPHANT RIDES! We can take pictures of you holding my new album on top of an elephant- at least I'll definitely do that! :)
ta ta for now!

Nashville Memories
Hey everyone, I wanted to write a little note about Nashville. Julia, my cellist and friend, flew out with me to record 3 new songs for my new album. This pic is us being silly in the plane! :) The whole trip went so smoothly and we were so blessed. We got to stay with my producer and his family. They were so nice and hospitable. We had 4 crazy days of recording. Thankfully we found some awesome places to get coffee. We rented a cello from a really nice place on Music Row. Since I had gone to college at Belmont (for one semester before transferring to Berklee) on Music Row and graduated high school in TN, I got to show Julia around a little bit.
We recorded the songs, Drop Dead, Falling In Love, and See Through. You can hear them here and also add them to your myspace page by going to www.myspace.com/tianastarmusic.
So, we had a blessed and very fun trip. We even got one hour right before the plane flight to go through the OpryMills mall and pick up some souvenirs for our loved ones- as well as some cute matching shirts from Forever 21 to remember our trip by! :)
Hope you guys enjoy the music as much as we enjoyed recording it!

Hope you have a wonderful Valentine's Day! Enjoy!
Negative or Positive
I feel like ranting about the music industry and how frustrated I am. Instead I thought how everyone always does that, and although true, there's gotta be something more positive to think and write about. How about a funny story? Or, a great story? Or and inspiring story?
Well, I could write a funny story- some of you may not think it's funny, but I do. I went to Hot Yoga last week. It was awful. If you're not familiar- it's where the stuffy room is over 105 F and then you stuff in 25 sweaty, snobby people- and it gets even hotter. For 90 whole minutes (really, the longest of my life) I endured through it. I will NEVER go back. Me and my friend and I that went are now activists to let everyone we know or meet this awful story and to tell them NEVER to go!
How about a great story now. Well, I don't have one of those in me today. So, go and read a great book like the Bible. :)
And for an inspiring story? Well, guess what- I have the most awesome sister. She teaches art in Guam, and she has been for almost 2 years. She's not only teaching but inspiring everyone. A lot of the high school kids have gone through a lot there. With poverty, incest, abuse and lots of other things- these kids face a lot. Something like 40% of the teen girls are pregnant. My sister has not only shown them love and cared for them- she's also shown them how they can help others. She inspired the whole school all by herself and arranged a full school showing of the movie Invisible Children. (www.invisiblechildren.com) Now the students there are making art things to sell (stationary, art, t-shirts, etc) to help the even more impoverished kids in Northern Uganda. How cool is that. She's been featured in the newspaper twice and more more than that she's touching lives and teaching them how to help others.
So, to recap- Hot Yoga- DON'T DO IT! Great Story/History/Facts- The Bible and Inspiring?- My sister- and check out www.invisiblechildren.com!
Hope you guys are doing great. I'll write more about my trip to Nashville to record and my happenings, but I didn't feel like writing about music- since that's what I do all the time- but you can hear my new songs at www.tianastar.com/signme
